i figured the best way to begin scrapping again was doing a digi page.
i ran across a new site called vol. 25
it is nothing short of amazing and wonderfully done and creative.
all of the elements on this page are done with shapes from their site
with the exception of the background paper and fonts reading "Jocelyn Senior 2011"
WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
beyond ecstatic to start getting in a groove again! :)
hubby even says i need to find a dedicated space to scrap b/c he has missed me doing
it so much!
addition:
one more just for fun. to prove i AM back! ;)

and sometimes....she gets {frustrated}
yes, it is true!!! don't we all??!!!
i think the thing that is most frustrating since i have moved is
going from high speed cable internet to s....l...o....w speed D..S..L!

i remember thinking and asking ppl, "how is DSL?" b/c cable internet
was not available @ our new location. that is just WV.
i thought, "how bad could it be?" it wasn't dial-up so i was hopeful...
i can't tell you how many times i have sat here @ the computer wanting
to poke my eyes out with HOT BURNING COALS!!!!!
yes, i got spoiled. and, now, i guess i just have to live with it.
it is most frustrating when i am on here. sometimes, i just get up and walk away.
no. joke.
and for the person who asked in my she *hearts* post about the Easton Towne Centre....
living in WV doesn't give me many options for shopping {thank goodness for the internet}
Easton is like a little town where every thing is within walking distance; everything i could have ever
needed to look for home related for our new house--it was there=huge convenience; i knew some ppl who had been there and really liked it. granted, i don't know Columbus and all it has to offer. i am sure that Easton is just a small part. i am an out-of-towner, so i went with what met my needs!
there you have it.
and b/c some day {soon} i am actually going to scrapbook again, here is an oldie but goodie!!

she takes *pictures*
~sigh~ my oldest is now a Senior in high school...
it's official and there is not a thing i can do about it!!!
when you are in the trenches of young motherhood you never think when
someone older and wiser than you tells you that "times flies by" that it actually will;
b/c i honestly thought i would be walking around in a "Mom fog" forever changing
diapers, wiping noses, pushing a stroller and all that jazz.
yet, here she is a Senior! i remember when she started high school that i was bound and
determined to slow down time, that this year wouldn't actually come, and that she would be
with me for a lot longer... {and if you have seen Toy Story 3, you know that totally tugged my heart}
BUT!!! we have an exciting year ahead of us; she has already decided on a major; and honestly she has turned out pretty darn good, if i do say so myself! ;)
so with this excitement and opportunity, i get the awesome privilege of shooting her Senior pictures!!
who else would, right?!
this first image is kind of a trial. we are going out this weekend, weather permitting, to do more!
i am always a "player" when it comes to the different tones and colors i like to have on photos.
here a just a few....
#1--basic color edit. i tend to like a "cooler" tone on my color images as well as them being a little more high key; i just like the brightness.
#2--very similar to the first only creamier skin tones

#3--a little cooler and a more urban tint applied. i just tend to think that darker skin tones/hair color
lend to this kind of processing! :)
#4--Classic B&W...love!
while i like the classic color edits, i tend to really LOVE the less traditional, urban edit. and then the B&W is a close 2nd!
more to come after this weekend, i am hoping!!! i just might even make her wear a fun dress;
and for her that is a major S......T.....R.....E......T.....C.....H.....!
picture it....her beautifulness with an added tan from the beach! cute little sundress; pictures right before sunset; i think it will be GREAT!!! and i am not a bit biased ;)

she...did NOT get wet on the 4th! ;) (kinda)
KA*POW!!!
...but most of my family did! this week has been the triple H!!! HAZY, HOT & HUMID!!this is NOT a dry heat, but more like 100% humidity, i can't breathe, why did i even bother to take a shower today? type kind of heat...
we don't have a pool but we do have a hose, buckets and the ever classic Slip n Slide!!!
so a run down of our 4th:
*church
*outside family time
*going to our very first rodeo...where we continued to sweat like pigs until the sun went down!
*fair food--funnel cake, kettle corn, hot dogs and LOTS of liquids to stay hydrated!
*listened to more country music than i thought i ever would be able to take-->lost... brain... cells...
*some of the best fireworks we had ever seen post-rodeo
*so if you count point #3 i technically got SOAKED on the 4th!!!
now, i am just trying to find a rhythm for the rest of life and staying dry.
no break from the heat until Saturday...
